The next season is amazing. Some new characters are added, per Hasbro's request, and the show becomes even funnier and more popular. We get the proper backstory for ponies like Scootaloo, and some closure on running threads, like Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts. The plot comes to a head in the Season 2 finale, as a massive beast looms over Ponyville, as the ponies run off to save Equestria once more, a To Be Continued Tag getting EVERYONE revved up for Season 3.

And Hasbro, in the outside world, following an inner executive's monetary scandals, combined with some horrible investments involving a reboot of the shows Jem and M.A.S.K., leads the company to bankruptcy, henceforth cancelling all the shows it had since been working on.

My Little Pony does survive the debacle, but the show is disbanded, and the remaining episodes get one small repreive as Seth Green pushes the show for reruns on Adult Swim, part of the Saturday lineup. The reruns last about a year, but the show never gets the numbers to stick, and eventually are removed from circulation.

My Little Pony doesn't get a G5 until the brand is bought by Mattel years later, and is rebranded again as a G3.5 mess once more. What was left of the 'bronies' leave for good, after attempting to contact Mattel to save the show, and recieving "Dear John" letters back. My Little Pony is dead again.

Meanwhile, writers are tasked with taking some piece of artwork and writing a story about it. They can write a tiny poignant piece, or expand it into a massive adventure which used the artwork as thematic inspiration, whatever they want.
