So, regarding future fic ideas, Snails x Mane Cast. Snails is super unpopular but in my Celestia x Snails fic I tried to understand him a bit better and see what that was about. I don't think any other males in the show, save Snips, are undesirable enough that they'd face utter and constant rejection, so this would be more of the underdog's story.
That said I figure the progression would probably be him hitting up, pursuing, or simply running into the six girls separately, and each time getting a little further than he did last time, starting with total rejection and ending with full rapturous lovemaking. I'd just need to figure out where each girl would fall on that scale, and who would give up what.
Alternately I suppose it could be about him running into some of the girls together and them sort of playing around with a male they know they can mess with pretty easily. Or perhaps he continues to try and get with a single girl, or a smaller group of them, narrowing his focus and pursuits. Lots of ways it could go.

I was under the impression it was maybe...a dimension. Not it's own planet but not quite part of our world.

Zecora indicates that there's a connection afterall, but between the way the sun and moon are controlled and the way there aren't any humans, it seems likely it's a sort of...hidden dimension.

Would seem further supported by references to things in our own literature and technology yet how they aren't mirrored exactly in Equestria. Certain things make it back and forth maybe.
