08/10/11(Wed)05:02 No.28572016>>28571686 The new student with the incredible magical potential needed to be kept close, Celestia could clearly see. She might turn out to be a threat, but she might also be the key to getting Luna back.
After the chaos of that entrance exam, after the signing of papers, Celestia had her people do a little digging. Ponies all over the Greater Canterlot Rural District reported an incredible rainbow and loud boom.
Over the course of the next few weeks, a picture emerged: thousands of ponies received their Cutie Marks within days of the Sonic Rainboom, which was tracked to one young Rainbow Dash.
As time went by, as the calendar eased closer to year 1000, she saw the candidates dwindling to a handful. They were gathering in Ponyville, each through coincidence or driven by some need. Each of them had a singular quality: though they had business associates and personal acquaintances, none of them had any close friendships. Even the party pony was lonely, despite the good times she engineered for others.
Celestia manipulated the bidding process for the Summer Sun Celebration's vendors. Four of them would provide most of the services, and from the reports, the pink one would somehow find herself in the middle of it all.
And two days beforehand, Twilight asked that fateful question. Celestia sent the pre-prepared letter with official Overseer paperwork. Then she prepared her mind and heart to meet her sister once more: in battle or in forgiveness. |
