I support the first part.
Twilight and gang must stop a possessed Celestria from covering the lands in perpetual daytime. To do this, they must get the Elements of Harmony, but Tria has hidden them away in a far off place. Surmounting many hardships throw by the newly usurped Devil God, the EoH reach their goal, but are quickly over comed by a beast of great strength. When all hope seems to be lost, Luna arrives, defeating the vile beast, and transporting all of them to confront Celstria.
Luna before hand was manipulated by Celestria to become into a state not unlike before the series began, twisted by the same negative feelings that gave birth to NMM, and therefore flees to the darkest part of Everfree in self imposed exile. However, a visit from a dehydrated Derpy informs her of the reality her sister has caused, all plant life actually dieing due to no reprieve from the constant barrage of sunlight and every poni baking under the harmful radiation and heat.
Realizing her equally important role in the whole grand scheme of things, she deducts the EoH are trying to stop her sister, and arrive in the nick of time to their location thanks to Derpys knowledge of the EoH confronting Celestria and announcing their intent of stopping her (however all dialogue is heavily muffin related.). Realizing there would be only one palce where she could have stashed the Elements so quickly, she uses her magic to transport to the EoH.
With all seven (and Derpy) ready to face her, Celstria proves to powerful at her current stage of possession to be as easily defeated in one move. Therefor, Luna faces her sister in a duel of magic. After much destruction and many dirty tricks by the Sun Goddess, Luna defeats her sister and calls upon the EoH to deliver the final, purifying blow. however, summoning all her dark powers, Celestria attacks Lunas mind, inflicting such horrors and false reality's, helped greatly by her imprisonment on the moon. |
