The main thing I realize is that we like to jab at each characters' flaws and inconsistencies, but realizing that each character has their weaknesses only helps us to understand that these aren't your perfect little girl archetypes, after all. We can dislike what a character does or certain attributes about them, but I like to think we can look past them.

Dash isn't even close to a Mary Sue. She's desperate for attention and affection, and constantly needs to prove herself against everyone and everything. She's athletically gifted, but has no apparent source of self-worth beyond proving herself fast/agile/strong. She's lazy as fuck, self-entitled, often insults her friends, and thinks nothing of cheating to win. She's a braggart who doesn't truly believe in herself. She seems to treat her friends casually, but remains unerringly loyal.
