At a glance, she's the most difficult to relate to -- she's the most exaggerated, cartoonish, outlandish personality of the group, and even in Party of One, her shining moment of an episode, it did nothing but prove even more how unhinged and unstable she is.
Then I realized something when I was looking back through the episodes. In retrospect, without Pinkie or any other sort of "free spirit" character, the main group would actually appear somewhat boring and overly technical. She's the Breath of Life in this little entity the main cast has formed, and she makes all the difference in ensuring the group doesn't appear as solely a "dead body", but something much more animated and vivid.
She might appear as though she exists for the sole purpose of existing at times, and there's no real method to her madness, but at least now I can see her as being more on the same level as the other characters rather than singling her out as "That One Girl" I had no interest in appreciating. |
