!Taxif57b8c 08/06/11(Sat)04:36 No.28437678>>28437615 I think I mentioned there, the writing is really competent, technically, but it's also very dry; it might be an extension of the character the author is trying to portray, ie, someone who's stuck up and snooty with a lot of royal education in their background, but it leaks through into the other parts of the story as well, and some of it makes the characters seem very unrealistic - for example, while I thought AJ was written very well as a character, I felt that she seemed WAY too 'in the know' for the way she's usually portrayed - not that she needs to be stupid, but she's not Twilight level intelligent.
I did finish reading the fic, or what it's up to now, and I'll read more when it gets published, I just didn't think it was the greatest thing ever written due to some of the stylistic choices, and, yes, in part due to Luna's personality; though, again, that's entirely the author's perogative. |
