MLP - "Sitting" 1/2

 It was a particularly sunny day at Ponyville and the foal of school had just begun their lunch hour. The moment the school bell rang-in lunch time, the students immediately made a break for the door, grabbing their lunches from their bags or from their sides. Once the foal knew they escaped the cruel grasp of "mathematics" (with their lunches in hoof), they galloped out of the school doors into the courtyard and playgrounds not far beyond the school grounds. The students either enjoyed their lunch alone or with company, either taking their time savoring their lunch or devouring it to play games.
Two particular fillies, who had just become friends not a week ago, were sitting at a bunch just in sight of the school. The cream-coated and twin-colored mane filly, BonBon, sat with a brown paperbag full of lunch food, while her mint-green unicorn friend, Lyra, sat with her baroque-lined crimson lunchbox, along with her prized lyre carefully placed behind the lunchbox.
"So, Lyra," BonBon started, finishing chewing on a daisy sandwich, "what did you get in your lunch today?"
"I'm... not sure," Lyra replied hesitatingly, still worried her Mother had forgotten to put food in her lunchbox once again, "Lemme see." The unicorn-pony cracked open her lunchbox and peered inside its contents. To her relief, there was an actual lunch in her lunchbox this time; however, the food inside seemed too... exquisite for Lyra's tastes and there wasn't a whole lot of food to begin with. Lyra rummaged with what little she had: marinated asparagus, blue cheese chunks, dates, a slice of cold veggie pizza from last night and a juice box of regular orange juice. Lyra frowned to herself, using her horn's telekinesis to lift the orange juice from the lunchbox, poked a hole at the top and began to drink slowly. |
