 it seemed strange to him to get transfered from manehatten where all the action was to this backtown podunk, but he figured he could take a load off his hooves and get used to a easy time of it without all the hassle and paperwork of inner city precincts.
a real easy time of it he begins to notice, infact, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happens here.
and that made him suspicious.
the more attention he placed while on his rounds, the stranger things felt to him, the way other ponies whent though the motions of life seemed off somehow, as if everything was on a stage. there must have been a reason he was placed here so informally, maby the chief knew somthing. whatever it was, he determined to get to the bottom of it.
but he was no loose cannon, he would do things by the book, and that ment gathering information.
so, without showing anything public to be amiss, he secretly began his investigation, sketches and photograhps of every name in town, notes and observations of daily activity, building up behvioral profiles and action logs. social network charts, who is doing what with whom, always looking for a pattern, always alert for a discrepancy or missing time frames.
he learned the tricks of the trade from the best, and when in doubt, you follow the money. it was hard to justify his constant visits to the library without raising suspicion, but he needed those files, not a single bit was changed or daisy flower shiped without his passive scrutiny. if anything was going on off the reccord, he would find it.
he would take the likely suspects for nightly stakeouts, he couldent be everywhere, but all he needs is one loose thread to pull.
whatever was going on in this town, he would find it. |
