Well, I think it's mainly two things.

1. A genial nostalgia, related either to the 80's originals or to seeing a bunch of 90's CN alumni collaborating on something again (and something not as hyperactive and nonsensical as say, Foster's)

2. A pleasant reaction to the realization that even as it's made FOR kids, it's not necessarily made DOWN to kids the way drek like Dora the Explorer or Fanboy & Chum Chum are. There's a lot of extra mileage coming from the personalities the VAs give the characters, and a refreshing lack of straining-to-be-hip that plagues a lot of shows, especially those designed around selling toys.

Mind you, I agree that there's a lot of unhealthy craziness in the fandom (never ever EVER read YT comments on posted episodes), but that disease doesn't affect the charm of the show itself, at least in my case. I like it.
