My biggest pet peeve in Fall weather friends is the fact that it's apparently fall,

But some how they're harvesting maple sap. Which can only be harvested in the Spring

Also The sap isn't clear like it should be but is instead coming out the rich brown colour of processed maple syrup.

This annoys me to no end.

I was not going to be able to sleep tonight until I got this image out of my head, and onto a canvas. I could have left it on my idea list for another day, but sometimes images are just so clear and perfect in my head in the moment of inspiration; right down to the color palette, that I just have to stop whatever I’m doing, open a new canvas, and create it, before I lose sense of that vivid image.

I really look forward to rendering this. I’ll work on it after my current original piece is finished.

While i'll agree that you can draw parallels between moe japanese shows and mlp, i personally think that its quick and wide acceptance in the general populace is more due to the widespread and more forgiving nature of the internet as its easier to find more accepting groups online.

Also recent trends that have been breaking the "tough guise" that males in western society have been forced to adopt by society. I think that this decreased self conciousness of attempting to maintain an air of masculinity will only be a good thing.

How ever mlp is not what started it. its just another symptom of change.

Rather these changes have been happening since the cultural upheavals in 20th century and have been resonating with the increased population, the further disseminating of information, the anonymous nature of the internet.

Its a shame that cartoons still have the for kids stigma though.
