Villain you say? I have an idea. Picture this:
The main cast goes to the port town of Horsemouth in order to negotiate a trade agreement with Ponyville on behalf of the Mayor. When they get there, they find the entire town to be deserted, as if for years. They search high and low only to finally find a mad old stallion. He tells them a tale of horrible abominations coming out of the water. They looked like ponies but they were disfigured and mutated as if the sea had done something to them. They came and captured all the ponies in the town, dragging them into the sea. He says they would also do things to the ponies they captured, making them into abominations themselves. The stallion's health declines and they decide to stay with him while he recovers. In the night, Twilight hears strange noises and awakens to discover the old pony gone, but a trail leading into the sea. The main six leave before the monsters come back but, even as they leave the town in the night they hear terrible haunting melodies of the great darkness that haunts the ocean's depths. |
