"Bronies" made Lauren Faust quit.
All she wanted was to create a children's cartoon for girls, and teach them that friendship is magic. Instead, she discovers that despite all the time and money spent on this labor of love, the core audience is grown men.
Yeah, she saw no reason in getting up every day and working tirelessly working on a show for GROWN MEN. Her creation was co-opted. No wonder she quit.
> Maybe if we get through to that one little girl, it will all be worth it
Sorry, Lisa. It didn't happen. Instead, Lauren turns on the TV and sees a greasy-haired man in his late 20's say "MLP helps me overcome my asbergers, which is an inheritted disease that I have struggled with my whole life."
I feel bad for her. I really do. She worked so hard on something she loved, and it was CO-OPTED. |
