Twilight diagnoses the zombie virus right away, so none of the Mane6 gets accidentally infected without realizing what's going on.

Later, when they're barricaded in some barn on Sweet Apple Acres the zombie ponies break in. AJ, being the only one strong enough to hold off legions of zombie ponies, volunteers to stay and buy them some time. She manages to not get torn apart, but gets bitten on the hoof while bucking the zombies away.

Rather than risk her friend's safety, she prefers to let them think she died in the barn, choosing not to rejoin them. Once losing the stragglers from the barn, she goes to die peacefully near her favorite apple tree.

Twilight would be third.
