There is some good in any fandom. That tiny grain of what made it what it once was. Even the sonic fandom, once upon a time, had good things. However, they're few and far between, encased in calcified layers of tripe and garbage.

Two or three chapters I don't mind at all. I think in the end it just bears down to "how early I discovered it and can track it." There's another story I liked, but looking back I'm kinda on the fence on about immediately recommending it. On one hand, I love the concept and the fact that it has a plausible structure and theme similar to the show, but the writing is kinda simplistic and hasty at times. Not bad, but has tendencies to veer into stereotypical FF.net-levels of glossing over moments where a sense of tension and intrigue should be. Which is kind of odd, since usually I complain about fanfics not being simple enough.
That, and the title is off-putting ("A Terrible Secret" is incredibly vague and alarmist for a story based on fanart about Rainbow Dash's hair actually being pure white and simply dyed with liquid rainbow), but that's a minor gripe.

/r/ing a fic about Pinkie cutting onions and crying. After realizing that onions make people sad, she creates a candy cane tank and goes on an onion slaughtering rampage, wreaking havoc in Ponyville. Could go as far as Pinkie 'formally declaring war' with onions and their supporters. Possibly tries to convince Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash to join her army.

I could write this and just might later, but I want to see how someone else would handle it. Any takers?
