I watched the whole first season over a lost poker game (though I did string retribution monetarily, two hundred bucks for the bar).
I'm feeling like I should've liked this more. It's got a lot of the elements I'd like in cartoons. The animation is alright, the colors are decent, but the stories are so gaudy it just makes me think of when I watched the original show as a kid.
It's not near so insipid, but it envinces a kind of mal character to them.
Though, on the plus, I like Spike, he's got some cool moments. If I had to watch more of this, I suppose he'd ease it. I just don't think this clicks with me.
Incidentally, I've posted in these before (I'm a linguist, I saw some one asking about how dragons might talk, I wanted to be helpful and it got me able to explore tonal and phonetic languages in a fictional milieu, and it allowed me to talk my specialization outside work).

Here's something, draw a basic shape for how you view the head (either horse like or FiM style), then go sculpting, like clay. Make extra lines shaping a jaw there, eyebrow, etc, keep drawing some extra lines and erasing other ones til you reach a shape you want.

Literature is a trickier business. When restricted to words, one needs to use vivid vocabulary and structure that tickles ones fancy, which can be particularly difficult in erotica. RS's writing is something I would expect out of a poorly written hentai manga, except that he could never dream of being as imaginative as "He's like the ferryman across the River Styx, pulling men into sin by their dicks".
