Shippable stallions/colts are very limited.
Snips and Snails are out due to being unlovable. However, Snails is passable in a future setting, as a kind of ugly duckling. No such like for Snips who will always be undesirable.
The bullies are generally unlikeable, unless your into that kind of thing, I suppose
After that, we do have a few male figures that had some very minor prominence.
Braeburn (Energetic, handsome, friendly, open minded)
Big Mac (Laid back, quiet, gentle, practical)
Soarin (Goofy, a weird sort of unpretention in his action, indulgent)
But quickly we're running out.
Caramel is characterized without even having a spoken line. Just a single action (no matter how adorable he is as Betamel)
Dr. Whoof gets more from the Dr. who series than FiM.
And then, all we have is whichever blank background pony you want.
And ALL of these characters can't hold a candle to the kind of characterization the mane 6 have had, or others like Celestia who have made multiple appearances.
It's just a fact that male shippers, be they gay or straight ships, have so damn little to work with and be inspired by when compared to the mane cast. |
