Also, although the ponies follow a culture much like our own, many things must be fundamentally different, socially speaking. For example, would jails even exist? The ponies seem to follow a herd mentality, and thus probably wouldn't try to do anything that they see as having negative consequences on the overall well-being of the herd. Not the mention the fact that there's a living, breathing GOD walking about, TWO gods, even. Would all punishment of crime be overseen by the Solar sisters? Banishment is probably a viable and somewhat common punishment, given how quickly Twilight jumped to that conclusion when Fluttershy ran off with Philomena.
Then there's things past crime, such as social gestures. High-fives still exist, as was seen in the episode where Rarity and Applejack sleep over at Twilight's house (I think it was that episode, anyway). Some form of handshaking must also exist, as was seen in the same episode when Applejack offered her hoof to Rarity. How would hugs be handled, one wonders? Kisses? Would there be different gestures for every breed of pony? Pegasi must have elaborate rituals regarding their wings, as must unicorns with their horns. |
