It's an illustration of the main cast as children, I believe. During the Cutie Mark Chronicles. Fluttershy IS a year older than the rest of the cast (or possibly just Pinkie. Maybe everyone differs from each other by a year or so.) and was a gangly, awkward looking filly during the flashback, as opposed to everyone else being fat and squat in stature as fillies.
I would have liked to see Applejack in fancy Manehattan attire though. Still, it's my favorite picture of humanized ponies. I just feel as though the overalls thing is just so overdone, you know? It's very fitting of course, but a little variation never hurt. It's the same with Rarity in a little white dress with matching white beret.
For humanized ponies, I actually love Rainbow Dash. Nobody can ever seem to agree on any one form for her, which always makes it fun. Twilight, although she has cute human designs, always wears the same outfit. It's really boring to see her in the same outfit all the time, you know? |
