Hey guys, I'm working on a series of MLP:FiM MTG cards, and I'd like your feedback.

I'm aware that someone already made cards for the mane 6, but I'm going to craft a set of about 50 cards, and add more as time permits.

I'll try to put equal emphasis on card playability (balance) and content from the show, but I can't promise anything just yet. This project is mainly for fun, so there's bound to be some broken cards, but hopefully not too many.

I'll be posting some cards today, along with the logic/lore combination behind each card.

Card art will be screens from the show, so if you have any item/card suggestions, please let me know which episode it appears in so I can grab the screens. The "artist" section of each card shows which episode the screen is taken from.

I'd post these in /tg/ but they'd probably flip their collective lids.

The obvious color choice for Twilight is Blue: The color of logic and wisdom. Hexproof seemed like a decent mechanic, as it supports the color scheme and protects twilight from destruction.

The card's mechanics are based around the "Sonic Rainboom" episode when Twilight gives Rarity wings.

Originally the spell counter was going to pop during your upkeep, but I thought it would be more appropriate if twilight had to tap in order to place a counter.

...okay, that's a lot of replies. No, I didn't watch the second part and I doubt I ever will, because the first part was just as interesting to me as any other toy advert in disguise I've seen. I mean obviously they've made an effort to have characters with individual personalities and the setting could be worse but if I do compare it to any other cartoon on TV I can't say it's even above average judging from what I've seen. I get "light-hearted and funny", I mean I like Adventure Time, but this just wasn't funny to me at all. It really is very enjoyable. The episodes have an amazing range of themes, from lighthearted(anything with Aquaman) to serious as fuck(Chill of the Night). Definitely check Chill of the Night, Mayhem of the Music Meister, and Battle of the Superheroes; those are some of the best of the entire series.

Fluttershy's card color is White because of her kindness (in the show as well as her freshly summoned state: 0/4), despite the mechanic of the card being Red.

The card mechanic is based on Fluttershy's outrage at seeing her friends get hurt in Dragonshy. Originally, I was going to add a rage counter every time a creature you controlled took damage, but that seemed too powerful.

I also considered using a screen from the Dragonshy episode, but everyone knows the "Best Night Ever" rage was much better.

Depends on your definition of filler.
I'd imagine most would say yes, whether or not that's a bad thing is debatable. Personally I like reading a story that doesn't rush itself and indulged in exploring details that don't seem that important. Although more often than not those details turn out to be important after all later on.
