07/11/11(Mon)21:24 No.27615957I don't mind the MLP show. It's actually got some decent writing in it, and I have to respect that it has multifaceted demographic appeal. What I can't stand is both the fanbase and the hatedom.
Again, the show has a lot of good things going for it, but ultimately it falls within Donnie Darko Syndrome. I really don't want to associate myself with its fans at all. Sure, there's some people who moderately enjoy some episodes, but then there's the people who are writing fanfics and deviantartcore fanart and gushing about how they wanna buttfuck Fluttershy in the face. And they're smug about it too. They're very reactionary and thin-skinned about any criticism towards MLP. I thought this show was about friendship. Friendship that's not on a give-and-take basis is like a bicycle that's not on a wheeled basis. What if I want to talk about Iron Man, or how bad the FOP movie was? Too bad. That's un-pony related, so I guess we have to invade these threads.
And the hatedom. They constantly make metathread upon metathread about the extent of how much they can't stand ponies. Fuck these assholes. It's a show. It's /co/-related, unlike the metathreads. Don't like it, talk about something you do like. And again, they're smug, thin-skinned, reactionary and reeking of ass burgers. Oh boo hoo, someone likes a cartoon that I don't. Get over it, you pussy.
You have to be deluding yourself to assume that only one of these are a problem, but not the other. What /co/ needs is room for the non-obsessed. |
