The prevailing thought is that Faust wanted her adventure show and Hasbro wanted their slice-of-life show. Hasbro won. Until we get the full story, which we never will, that's the best guess we have as to what went down.

And there are a LOT of animation veterans on staff OTHER than Faust who have worked on shit like Dexter's Lab, Teenage Robot, Samurai Jack, and other good stuff. I'm not even remotely concerned that the quality of the show will dip in season 2 and beyond, unless guys like Theissen and Renzetti leave as well; which, as of yet, they haven't.
