Revised Viewing Order - Season One

 Okay, I've got my revised order mostly done.
- The reddish lines are episodes that show ripe apples and possibly apples being picked, but not full-on apple harvesting. That's what determined most of the order. (It also pushed the seasonal change into the latter half, and put the Rarity episodes toward the end of the season.)
- The dashes indicate actual physical danger. The plusses indicate physical danger brought about by the actions of ponies (or buffalo). (Sonic Rainboom should be a plus, not a dash.)
- I decided that the Gala would be in spring, because for that one night alone, all the flowers' blooming schedules would coincide. That also meant that the apple blossoms wouldn't be apples yet.
- In Swarm of the Century's conflict between background Gala dresses and a full orchard, I picked apples. (It's not like a dressmaker wouldn't re-use color schemes, especially with her technicolor clientele.)
- I decided that solving the dragon problem in Dragonshy would be the reason Celestia sends the tickets to the Gala.
- Stare Master really should be a spring episode, but it and Show Stoppers (might as well get the CMC out of the way right away) break up a streak of six episodes with either Rainbow Dash or Pinkie Pie as a protagonist, and prevent a similar Fluttershy/Rarity streak at the end of the season.
There's character arcs, then there's lumping them all together and getting tired of that character. This is a show with an ensemble cast, and they all need their time. |
