>>27282573 There are three distinct skills to practice, in order to draw well. I have long neglected all of them:
1. Geometry in 3 dimensions - spend 5 minutes each day visualizing the objects you see as simple three-dimensional shapes. In your mind, rotate them and move them around the room. 2. Aesthetics - spend at least five minutes every day looking at what others consider to be art, and determining why: framing, color, contrast, etc. 3. Drafting - putting pencil to paper. (I only have pens handy.) Practice 5 minutes a day drawing still or inanimate objects or pictures, through a grid. (See pic.) This will train the part of the brain that controls your hand to listen to the part that controls your eyes, the visual cortex, the best image-processing computer in the known universe.
Do this, and in just 15 min a day, you will be getting exactly the practice you need to draw ponies better. |
