They are a bit messy. I was kinda just trying to figure it out as I went (resisting urge to say "winging it") but I don't mind going back over it with a better method.

As for direction, neither of them are fully extended, but the right wing is pointing mostly straight right while the left one is bent back inward and raised a bit. Or it's supposed to be. I guess if people can't tell then there's more to do.

I do say that now, yes, it's practically impossible, short of meteor strike. Modern designs can actually power their own cooling while they shut down, the reactor chambers can take many times the heat output of the reaction before they start to melt. Without outside interference it's damn near impossible for there to be a leak.
