I've hinted several times at their existence in Paradise. Today, someone in the thread, Sanguine, I think he went by, flat out dropped the fic on Chapter 3 when they were hinted at. At least one anon said they've been fine so far with humans as a distant threat, but it has been their biggest issue with Paradise.
If or when I bring them up again, I've wanted to get a sort of gage on what pitfalls to avoid. Myself, my opinions are much like dino-fags >>27080052
I don't like the setting to be Earth, and I certainly will never have have them as a sort of self insert. To me, they're simply another race in a diverse world. Much like DnD or Lord of the Rings has Dwarfs, Elves, Orcs, and humans are just another, so likewise, I can see a fantasy world with ponies, manticore, intelligent buffalo, Faefolk, and humans are simply another race.
It's a compromise I made. In the end, I like the ponies separate. But from the approach I was making toward a prequel like Paradise, I saw a necessity in acknowledging their existence and I've tried to build a world that would make sense with them a part of it that would make the world of Friendship is Magic simply make more sense in the end and not less. |
