Doubts and insecurities continued to flood his mind. Why had it been so difficult for him? Twilight made everything simple, so why was this task so daunting.
Back in the library, a curious Twilight Sparkle opened the package she'd received. Inside were row after row of individually wrapped caramel candies wrapped in violet ribbon with a soft pink stripe trailing down the center. The words, "From Caramel" were written on a note atop them. Twilight wasn't a fan of sweets, but she supposed that since they were a gift, it would be unkind of her to not try them. She levitated a caramel into the air, unwrapped it, and place it upon her tongue. Flavor filled her mouth and drenched every taste-bud with a delectable sweetness. It's texture was soft and airy as she chewed, not at all as sticky as she thought they would be. Her only distaste for caramels were that they stuck to her teeth too often. These, however, melted a short while after you bit into them.
"I wish he hadn't run off so fast," Twilight peered out of a window towards Sweet Apple Orchards. "These caramels are delicious. I'll have to send some to Celestia!"
So, Twilight awoke Spike to prepare a letter, and Caramel, feeling ashamed and defeated, moped around the Apple Farm, being lectured about forgetting something he hadn't cared to remember. His mind too distracted by a certain bookish filly.
