I think this whole reaction is a little silly. Why is pony porn more acceptable when they're given FEWER human attributes?
Most stigma I see towards it is the fear of sexualizing (which has clearly already happened, assuming it's porn) or a potential implication of bestiality, which I'd assume is more prevalent when the character bears more animal traits.

I just don't really see the point of getting so knee-jerk reactionary about it, all else being equal.
Unless of course it's just a matter of being on model, or the off-model style just being, you know, shitty. That, I'm totally willing to concede.

Dash (Loyalty): Dash's squads never need to make moral checks, and cannot be forced to surrender. Other armies cannot plant traitors in her squads.

Fluttershy (Kindness): Any unit killed by one of her armies has a 10% chance to be captured instead. Captured troops (including regular surrenders) have a 50% chance of converting and joining her army.

Applejack (Honesty): Traitors, infiltrators, and spies all have no effect on her units. Her armies gain a +50 moral bonus whenever a treaty with her is broken.

Pinkie (Laughter): Her armies never suffer combat fatigue. Her units cannot be routed.

Rarity (Generosity): All occupied towns and cities produce 25% more volunteers and supplies. Any captives she holds cannot be incited to riot.

Twilight (Magic): Once per battle, the commander of her army may apply one of 25 battlefield effects. Each has a small but significant combat effect (number 25, for example, causes all units within 400' of the casting to grow big, bushy mustaches, boosting morale by 10), making hers the most versatile army.

Will probably be initially successful in battles, gradually loses more and more followers with her directionless campaign. Eventually ends up captured or defeated due to stubborn and competitive nature making her predictable.

Rainbow Dash, similar to Applejack, but a more serious threat due to air superiority of her forces. Will last longer, but ends up the same way, due to inability to compromise.

Rarity: gives up early on to design uniforms for one of the others, they will be the sharpest dressed ponies on the battlefield.

Fluttershy: too timid to commit her forces to battle, she instead focuses on defending what she has. Each new wave of casualties weakens her resolve until she finally breaks down and tries to end the fighting with a heartfelt speech, is killed halfway through it by a sniper.

Pinkie Pie: precognitive abilities give her an edge over everybody else, she's always one step ahead and manages to avoid problematic situations. Unfortunately her irreverent attitude causes her to take the whole conflict as a game, thus she only seeks to prolong it with her antics. She never exploits opportunities that could finish an opponent and mostly just keeps people in check.

Twilight: able administrator, probably the only one with an actual plan and long term strategy. She employs cunning, magic, and knowledge to remove her enemies. The least adventurous and daring of the ponies, but almost guaranteed to end up winning the war.

The style I'm using is the style I do most of my current comedy-based works in. It's easier and more expressive for me and more expressive usually means funnier since my humor is essentially limited to "make a funny face".

GOUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TWILIGHT: The Problem of Space in MLP

Problem: Equestria has the same constellations as Earth. But it is not Earth. There is no possible way it can be Earth in the past, present, or future. Here is why.

Night and day do not occur automatically in Equestria. The pilot shows us that without Celestia, there can be no daylight. The ponies have control over the weather but this aspect of their world is left to the royal sisters alone.

The fact that Luna and Celestia are needed to bring night and day means their planet DOES NOT ROTATE. Thus, if it is situated in space, it is either a stationary globe, or it is flat.

The prologue specifically says that Celestia "raises the sun at dawn." This means Celestia is powerful enough to MOVE STARS. It also means that Equestria does not rotate around its sun, since that sun can be freely manipulated. If Equestria were in orbit around a star, moving that star would have cataclysmic effects on the planet, as its orbit would suddenly be disrupted.

see, I associate the on model ponies with their in-show counterparts. That means their personalities, stories, character in general as well as their appearances.

When I look at anthro versions, I get this awkward detachment from the characters that they are supposed to depict. I still can appreciate them, but I can't compare them to their on-model counterparts.

I guess it just comes down to personal preference. I never enjoyed your art for the production quality (your style is quirky and cute, not well-suited for fapping), but for the quality of the ideas behind it.

Indeed, it is very likely that the sun is not a massive body burning millions of miles away, but rather a smallish ball of fire which literally resides in the sky. This would solve another problem: moving an object the size of a star, orbit or no orbit, would also cause catastrophic changes in Equestria's gravity. If the sun is small but hot, however, this problem is fixed. It is quite likely that the sun is not much bigger than it appears to be from the ground.


Then there's the moon. It does not appear to be a dead rock, but some sort of magical construct, which can be used to imprison a pony in such a way that her silhouette appears upon it. This implies that Luna was not ON the moon but in some sort of stasis WITHIN the moon. This is backed up by the pilot, which always uses the word "within," never "on" to refer to Luna's imprisonment. The moon may not even be solid, or if it is, it has some sort of magical property. It may, like the sun, be as big as it appears to be.

Four stars fly toward the moon to "aid in [Luna's] escape" during the pilot. Assuming these stars do not represent someone else, that means that even stars are mobile in Equestria, and can move of their own accord (or, possibly, that NMM enchanted them to do this somehow.) That means stars cannot be distant suns, since they are shown to be touching the moon. They are literally tiny points of light.

Solution: Space does not exist in the MLP universe. Equestria and its sky are all that there is. As a fantasy universe, its physical laws are completely different from our own. The fact that it shares Earth's constellations means this may be some sort of alternate Earth, but it cannot be anything resembling our Earth in the past or future, since that would require the entire universe as we know it to be radically and fundamentally altered.

Have you considered it's actually the other way around? That celestia controls the rotation of the planet, rather than the stars? Luna can have the moon if she wants, that seems fairly reasonable.

Unless of course she doesn't really raise the sun. She just convinced the ponies of her divinity and took credit for something that was already in motion. Their world still rotates and has an orbit (but it lacks much of a tilt which is why they are needed to change the season).

Celestia is just a pretender to the throne of the Most High.

i'd do it if i had any experience constructing these, and could draw in an appealing style at a very fast rate.

Something I collaborated on at Ponychan with two or three other authors.

THE FIGHT

Fluttershy was having a good day so far. She got up, fed Angel and the other animals, and still had time to make some tea and read the book Twilight had loaned her. It was looking like today would be a good day after all...

Until there was a knock at the door. A frenzied, worried knock that startled Fluttershy and kind of scared her. She reluctantly, slowly opened the door to find herself face to face with her friend Pinkie Pie. Normally, this would have calmed her, but Pinkie's morose expression and flat, ironed hair only added to her worry.

“H-h-hello, P-Pinkie... what's wrong?” Pinkie's eyes seemed to quiver.

“Fluttershy, something's wrong with Spike.”

Spike stared at his knees, sitting still on Fluttershy's couch, waiting silently for the two mares in the kitchen.

“He just showed up at the bakery and wouldn't say anything. Eventually, he told me that he and Twilight had a fight, but he wouldn't say what it was about... What do I do Fluttershy!?” Pinkie almost sobbed, she hated it when her friends fought.

"A fight? Oh dear, that sound serious. Is Spike...okay?"

Just as Fluttershy said that they suddenly hear a whimpering sound. The two mares peeks through the kitchen and sees Spike crying on the couch.

"Oh dear. Maybe we need to talk to Twilight."

"Ooh!" Exclaimed Pinkie, suddenly cheerful again. "Maybe we can be a friendship counselor! You stay here with Spike, I'll bring Twilight over"

"Counselor? Ummm, okay, Pinkie, I guess". Just as Fluttershy said that Pinkie has galloped away to the library.

"Twilight! Twiliiiiight, open the door!" Pinkie shouted, not pausing in her frantic pounding on the door to the library. Eventually, Twilight did open the door, standing off to the side to prevent Pinkie's hoof from smacking her in the face.

"What is it Pinkie." Twilight muttered, her tone completely flat. "I've been having a bad day, and I'm not in the mood for jokes."

Pinkie cringed, she had been expecting Twilight to be upset, not mad.

She recovered quickly. "Twilight, you have to come to Fluttershy's house! We have... a surprise for you!"

"Pinkie Pie, I'm not in the mood for a surprise. Can't you just tell me what it is?"

"Nope, you have to come see it! Please?" Pinkie widened her eyes and gazed.

"...Alright. Fine. I'll go."

Meanwhile, at Fluttershy's house.

Fluttershy: So...Spike. Anything you want to talk about?

(Spike just sits silently, looking sad)

Fluttershy: I...I have some gems. Want some?

Spike (low voice): ...sure...

(Fluttershy goes into the kitchen and brings back a hooffull of gems. She gives them to Spike and he slowly munches on one of them)

Fluttershy: So...how's Twili---?

Spike (suddenly angry): I DON'T EVER WANT TO SEE THAT PURPLE UNICORN AGAIN, ALL RIGHT!? (he crushes the diamond he was holding in his hand to dust)

Fluttershy (scared): eep!

Spike: Uh, I...I'm sorry, Fluttershy. I had a really bad day, today...

Fluttershy: ...Sure, Spike. Just...relax. We can work this out.

Spike: ...sigh...

(Suddenly there's a knock on the front door)

Spike: A likely story. Why don't you just admit you are wrong and we can forget this whole thing.

Twilight: I'M WRONG!? Why you...! You know what, forget it. Who needs a stubborn dragon like you anyway! I can manage on my own! I'm going back to MY home, if you don't mind.

(Turns around and heads to the door, only to see Pinkie and Fluttershy blocking her path)

Twilight: I said I'm going home, guys.

Fluttershy: Well, um...I'm afraid we can't let you do that, Twilight...that is, if that's okay with you. (makes a nervous gulp)

Twilight: Well, Fluttershy. No, it's NOT OKAY WITH ME!!! NOW SHOVE IT!!!

Fluttershy (slightly louder): All this was over how books are arranged?

Twilight: Um, we heard you the first time.

The other three look at Fluttershy, shocked.

Pinkie: Ummm, guys? Run.

Twilight: I agree (Spike jumps on Twilight's back as she gallops away fast as she could, with Fluttershy chasing after them).

Twilight: Dear Princess Celestia, today Spike and I learned a valuable lesson about friendship. Just because we have different opinions on some things doesn't mean we should hate eachother. Friends having their own ideas and thoughts can make us explore our own's and make us understand our thoughts more closely. Sometimes you need to consider how others feel in order to get along with our life. Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle

So, Luna's moon imprisonment... It's been a long time since I watched the first two episodes, and I can't remember the details. Was she just physically stuck on the moon, or more abstractly sealed in the lunar eclipse itself? I think I remember something about the latter but I might just be confusing Luna with Castlevania.
