!NHqdxYQAec 06/18/11(Sat)22:45 No.26959701>>26959221 Considering that an outsider would have never guessed that the series finished the season back in early May by looking at the fandom, would it be surprising if this turned out to be true? Hell, I should be using saying fandoms, since the bases are like rival families in never-ending feuds (pre-G4 fanbase, /co/, Ponychan, EQD, the SA spinoff community, etc.) If not the show or even the content, there will always be fanbase politics.
Of course, as time goes by, the popularity will slow down because most of the growing and hype is done early on back when it's the "new big thing". Eventually, it will stop being the "new big thing" and just be the "big thing", and that's when the content will wane when the show ends or is perceived to have jumped the shark (human character, Mary-Sue, seventh member, etc.). No team of writers are infallible enough to avoid triggering a landmine or two. It will still be popular, but it will no longer roar all across the internet, leading to stagnation and a quest for the next "new big thing" to latch on for dear life to. |
