One is as an entity in itself that should be respected by their fans. The other is as an idea and concept that can be explored in a variety of different ways, including in porn. And then there's the third view, the creepiest: treating the character as its own entity (like the first) but having perverse, lustful, or even romantic feelings toward the character.
Type 1 will ALWAYS conflict with type 2, because it's pretty much "HOW DARE YOU DRAW MY WAIFU IN YOUR SICK FURRY PORN." But both types 1 and 2 will always conflict with type 3, because if you're actually in love with a fictional character, you need help. |
