FOR THE RECORD, THIS IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION.

Honestly, while I also love intimacy, sometimes, in my personal sex life, I do stuff like this. It's just so exhilarating to have someone you trust so completely hurt you so much while making you feel like you're in heaven at the same time.

My favorite thing though? Being tied up and blindfolded.

    Deer.

"When Ponies Dream" episode that just scraps any sort of moral lesson and has six mini-stories about the things ponies dream about, maybe try some alternate animation studios for the small scenes. Applejack's gets a Sukiyaki Western Django, Pinkie gets a nightmare involving a pony slasher and basically makes it her bitch, Twilight Sparkle's dreams involve her saving the world with SCIENCE, and Fluttershy's are about an endless swarm of killer bunnies.

    Grogar and Tambleon.

    Pinkie Pie/Weird Al Dueling Accordions.

Pinkie Pie trying to get some new pony to smile who just will not crack, and she eventually cracks herself, not depressed, but just can't understand why nothing she tries is working.

Rainbow Dash's dorky parents come to town.

    More Cutie Mark Crusaders.

She had never seen Rarity act so untamed before, and Applejack had to admit that it was more enjoyable than the alternative. Something inside her hungered for more. Applejack wanted raw and unabashed honesty from Rarity. She wanted her to scream out her frustrations, holler Applejack’s name, and break under a crashing, overwhelming wave of pleasure beneath her.

“You know,” Applejack rolled over and forced herself on top of Rarity, “if ya’ll weren’t such a stick in the mud, we coulda been doin’ this a lot sooner.”

“Oh, please,” Rarity scoffed. “As if the thought had ever crossed my mind with you looking so appalling whenever you come in from the orchards.”

“Ain’t nothin’ wrong with a hard days work,” Applejack raised her voice in anger.

“For goodness sake, Applejack,” Rarity glared back, “you’re a lady! The least you could do is clean up and act like one!”

Pain filled her eyes for a moment and a small amount of Applejack’s anger subsided.

“You look so wonderful when you do,” Rarity placed a hoof to Applejack’s cheek with a melancholy smile.

G1 is rebranded Dungeons and Dragons. Sure, it starts of cutesy, but then rocks fall (literally in one episode) and everyone almost dies.
MLP Tales is actually part of G1, but everyone counts it separately. It's mostly another sitcom show. I've never seen G2, though.

Pacce might synchtube that stuff this Saturday.

Also, does anyone know if there is a real difference between headpiece microphones and the stand alone ones?

    >The trailers really didn't impress me.
Let me tell you a story of woe.
I was in the movie theater, waiting during the 20 minutes of ads for movies for next summer. Most of them looked cute, I even gave a pass for Cars 2.

Along came a trailer that started with a smash cut "There are 20 minutes of Apollo missions we were never meant to see." Mission control's cutting the feed, faking logs, talking to the men on the ground. They amble along the crater to find an alien artifact / spaceship.

The look of awe on their faces is staggering. Men who just barely made it to the moon based on gravity and chemical propulsion are witnessing millenia-old technology far exceeding our own. The sweep of their flashlights only hints at the strange organic forms of the hull and cockpit.

"We found something." I could feel it. I knew the titles were going to close and we'd see APOLLO X or something. I hadn't felt this excited for a sci-fi film in ages.

The flashlight falls across a giant robot. TRANSFORMERS 3 blazed across the screen with the same sound effects that get thirteen-year-old boys' action up for the DROID phones.

My heart broke that day. It just fucking stopped beating for a while.

And that's how Equestria was made.

Ultimate Spiderman tends to be good. It just that writers often try to play the DRAMA card far too heavily. They could learn a thing or two from Kimi Ni Todoke.

The other Ultimate books tend to vary from average to bringing back the 90's EXTREME.

However, none hold a candle to Marvel Adventures Spiderman. I cried when someone story timed it. I literally cried during the Bulls Eye fight.

What made the 82 The Thing special were the special effects, fucking amazing for the time, kind of dated by still nonetheless impressive today when you watch it in context. Anything in the prequel will just be CG, and while it's my own opinion, I never find CG to be frightening.

The girl, meanwhile, is utterly disgusted, and can't believe something so horrible has happened to her. She'll probably file rape charges just so her reputation won't be completely ruined.

Battletech and Macross still have issues with Harmony Gold. While Battletech is free of them, there's still a risk the movie will be taken to court. I think the Mechwarrior game is having legal problems, too. Macross has an even greater issue with that, since there are so many involved groups.

Applejack stood up and shimmied out of the dress. Her hat was resting lopsided on the mannequins flank. Grabbing the brim with her teeth, she flipped the hat into the air and it made a perfect landing onto her head.

"What are you doing?" frustration filled Rarity as she spoke.

"I ain't gonna change into some lace covered toy for you mess around with," Applejack said as she stormed towards the boutique's front door. "Don't lie to me and tell me ya'll think I look wonderful, when I only look that way when ya'll want me to."

"Ugh!" Rarity stomped her front hooves to the floor and turned her back and Applejack. "Fine, be a stubborn mule and look as horrid as you want. I don't care."

"Fine!" Applejack slammed the door behind her.

"Fine!" Rarity trotted upstairs to her room.

CG starts to "age" when a new generation of digital rendering makes the imperfections of the old ones more apparent. Practical effects don't tend to make regular large strides in quality (in fact their lack of use means that older practical effects from the pre-CG era in many cases are more detailed and realistic), so they tend to age more gracefully.

Now some CG can still look good if you put a LOT of work into it. Gollum, for example, will probably outshine a lot of crappy CG characters for the next few years. Meanwhile this Green Lantern being streamed looks fakey as fuck and it's distracting.

CGI "ages" even when it's new. Avatar had the best CGI at the time, and I couldn't get the least bit interested in it. It's all in how you use it.

Do you know dog movies? They hardly make dog movies anymore. The inherent problem with dog movies is that if you try to have a scene with the dog that's sentimental, the protagonist will be talking to the dog, or cuddling with the dog, or whatever. But instead of looking at the protagonist, the dog keeps glancing over at the trainer. Or the camera. Or the lights. Or whatever. And it totally breaks the moment. Same with young kids.

So there's a good reason to have CGI. Little shit. Fix the dogs eyes. Not having big CGI robots sticking 3D knives in the face of the viewer. As Quentin Tarantino once said, if I really wanted all that shit, I'd go home and stick my dick in a playstation.

On a related note, Indiana Jones IV was pretty close to the first three, but the introduction of MUTT and the way they handled the aliens - not the aliens, how it was pointed out in the film - and loose definition of "DAS BAD GUYS" really killed it.

There's good uses of 3rd person narrator and poor ones. Even a 3rd person omniscient narrator should never need to explain feelings, because the entire point of having feelings in a story is to make them relatable. If you need to explain or lay out how your character's feelings work, you're doing a poor job. Good use of 3rd person narration capitalizes on expressing feelings of confusion or vulnerability by projecting scattered thoughts.

Again, I'm not say it's not done. I'm saying that when it's done, it's being done poorly. No matter what your narrator type, feelings are meant to be passively picked up on via mood and setting, not narrated.

since we're not talking about ponies

Is Fallout related to Back to The Future? or the fallout is something of public knowledge?

In the movie, marty talks about the future and doc asks if the nukes have fallen and says something about the fallout.

then Marty wears a space suit that resembles the anti radioactive suit.

The truth is, you should NEVER bounce around so rapidly between perspectives. The key is to find one perspective you'd like to follow, and stick with it. In real life, we can't jump into another person's shoes immediately and figure out how they're thinking and feeling. So if you're writing a story with, say, Twilight primarily in charge of the perspective, try to portray other characters' feelings, thoughts, etc. through their body language and voice, as well as the perspective character's interpretation of them.

It will depend on how far from ground zero you are. The problem with the sequence is that the entire town is destroyed except for the one refrigerator which Indy happens to be hiding in. As well as flying through the air for however many hundreds of yard and he gets out unscathed.

If he had, for example, hid in the fridge, survives the flash and shockwaved, and then stumbled out into a ruined house, maybe I would have been able to suspend disbelief.

If not for the whole rocketsled thing and everything else that had already happened.

But bouncing between perspectives can create a sense of immediacy and urgency and SHARPNESS. I like to sometimes get dialogue going between two or three characters and just leave off the "(character name) said" parts entirely. Just dialogue-dialogue-dialogue snapping back and forth. It's especially good for arguments.

It all comes back to suspension of disbelief. There wasn't anything particularly ridiculous in the first three films except for all the magic shit, and the inflatable raft out of the airplane. All was more forgivable than anything in IV.

Even after all the problems, there's the inherent problem of mixing Sci Fi with indiana jones. You're crossing genres. I don't want to see Indy meeting aliens. I don't want to see Captian Picard getting a mummy's curse.

Also: verbal tics and speaking styles. NAIL them for each distinct character.

I can't explain how to do this because, for me at least, it's something I just feel. I just go with it- I know how, say, Rainbow Dash would talk. I've seen her in enough episodes now that I have a sensation in my head when I'm typing that tells me whether she would or wouldn't say a particular thing. I just know her.

It's a little easier for a character with a speech style or an accent, like Applejack.

Not really, no. In nuclear explosions, people die from the initial burst. They're incinerated. Or they die from the shockwave. If not the shockwave, then all the debris flying around. If not all that, then the fires started by all the destroyed debris. If not that, then you die slowly from radiation sickness. Caused by inhalation, ingestion of radioactive particles. You don't die by looking at mushroom clouds. Mushroom clouds glow because they're so hot. Blackbody emitters. Not because of cherenkov radiation or anything like that.

Right. There's that initial flash across the whole spectrum that incinerates everybody close enough. Then the people who are further enough away to survive that, and the shock, go out to look at the mushroom cloud

They used to do this with troops in the fifties. They would have troops in trenches, and give them shaded goggles. Then they'd blow up a nuke nearby. The trenches and the goggles would protect them from the flash and the shockwave, and then they'd all go out and look at the mushroom cloud.

And then, pretending on the prevailing winds, they'd be exposed to fallout and get cancer.

Thing about The Day After was, it was pretty much a best case scenario of a total nuclear war. Threads was much scarier.

80's British movie about the world going to the shitter after a nuclear war between USA and the Soviet Union.
Nuclear winter, fallout poisoning, no more food or water and civilization being plummeted back to the middle ages, plus all the kids after the bomb are like lferal, uncultured cavemen that only speal with mangled sentences because their parents are too sick or terrified as to teach them anything.
The world is left with only one generation's lifespan to live, two if they are UNLUCKY.

    Still a very good movie.

Does anyone have a link to the fanfic where Diamon Tiara feels really embarrassed and ashamed at the Cutie Mark Crusaders showing her up at her own Cutecenera?

And then the next day Apple Bloom asks if she wants to be friends, and it's concentrated D'AWWWW?

It was in one of the old Friend-Offs, I think.

How life tries to continue the day after a nuclear war that only lasted a few minutes before plummeting the world into chaos and destroying the Earth's biosphere, kid.
Forget post-nuclear stories like MadMax or Hokuto No Ken where everyone turns into badasses, in The Day After and Threads you will only find sickness, horror, chaos and no hope at all.
