"You're going to..." Twilight calmed as the machine went lifeless, "make it worse?"
"Oh Twilight," Pinkie Pie giggled and patted her friend on the head. "You worry too much. I had everything under control."
Twilight inspected the machine directly, confused as to how Pinkie Pie had accomplished defusing a potential bomb. A few sparks shot out from the machine and startled Twilight, who yelped and clung to Pinkie Pie.
"Wow," Pinkie Pie squeezed her in return. "A thank you would have been fine, but this is nice too."
"Sorry," Twilight blushed and removed herself from the bubblegum pink pony. "I guess it surprised me a little."
"Wasn't it great?!," Pinkie Pie bounced with joy.
"Not exactly," Twilight said looking over the schematics again. "I'm sorry Pinkie Pie but I'll have to have you come back tomorrow. Hopefully, I can figure out what went wrong and fix this thing."
Twilight approached the machine and received an angry fast whir in response. It sparked again and a blot of electricity shot out towards Twilight. The purple unicorn ducked out of the way and watched as the bolt struck Pinkie Pie. Energy coursed through Pinkie Pie and her body spasmed from the shock.
When it passed, Twilight ran over to the scorched pony and asked, "Oh my gosh, Pinkie! Are you okay?"
"Okie dokie lokie," Pinkie Pie's eyes rolled around in her head as she staggered across the room.
A hiccup steadied her balance and she giggled a bit. Her hair was frazzled and her body was covered in burnt ash.
"Thanks for the help, Twilight," Pinkie Pie shook herself back to normal. "I have to go deliver some baked goods to Rose anyway. See ya."
"Goodbye Pinkie Pie," Twilight giggled and waved her friend away as she bounced out the front door. "Now, back to work." |
