The angle I was planning on taking the story was that the actual Equestria and the Equestria from MLP:FiM don't completely match up, but most things are the same. Basically Faust is an evil enchantress that scryed Equestria and decided to make a cartoon based heavily on what she saw.

Since this thread is apparently about Trixie (I'm okay with this) I have a quick thought to make us all ponder.

I always assumed the ponies had names that were unlikely to be something you'd name your own kids as they were more like...nicknames or aliases I guess. So how'd Trixie get to be called...well Trixie.

I guess it implies she uses simple magic tricks...but I dunno seems more like the silly puns they used with Pokemon Gym Leaders sometimes (Brock being close to Rock, Lt. "Surge" relating to electricity, Candice having ice in it, etc.)

I dunno I always thought she should have something like, "Magic Dazzle" or "Showstopper" or something both fitting of her talent in magic and her love of impressing of the people around her.

This could be due to two things, one, Equestria's borders are highly patrolled and keep out all foreigners. Here's my problem with FiM:
They super cutafied the ponies and made their eyes disturbingly massive. The animation is Flash, and not good Flash, but the kind of flash where instead of actually animating squash and stretch, they just resize the shapes. And of course, symbols instead of actual lip syncing.
This is not quality animation.
Don't even get me started on the voice acting.
And Pinkie Pie is basically the worst character ever.
