It's like that fic where Pinkie got diabeetus and died, and then all the ponies had to deal with it. Fluttershy doesn't have to be raped. She could be killed by an animal she was trying to help. A manticore that was more hungry than in need of a friend.

It's just that with the rape Fluttershy is there to change the dynamic. When a pony dies, the others just deal with it. They can't inadvertantly make things worse.

It wouldn't have to be rape. It's just what the guy with the fever dream posted. Any kind of long lasting trauma, though, would be a good vehicle for telling the story. Just something where all the ponies are suddenly jarred out of their happy lives and have to come to terms with a colder world.

I loved Avenue Q for the same reason as I'd like this fic.

I need your advice on something.

What if you're writing a story, and you've gotten a ways into it, and then you think 'would people WANT to read this?' What do you do with those sort of thoughts?

Here it goes...
This story isn't like all the others out there. It's also not for those that have a weak heart.This story contains tragedies, love, betrayal, life, death, and the magic of friendship. If you still plan on reading this, don't plan on being easily dissapointed.


Without suprise, it starts in Ponyville. What is less suprising still would be that the real story starts with Twilight Sparkle as she is running home to the library.What started out to be like any other of Pinkie Pies' parties took a dramatic change in a hurry. You have a prolouge to read before that though.

After being up and dancing for about an hour, Twilight had decided to relax in the back of Sugarcube Corner. It was when she was sitting there that she noticed a pile of papers placed upont the counter beside her table. Big Macs party was kind of dying down anyways, so she saw no problem with letting her curiosity get the better of her and check them out to pass the time.


As she slipped out of the chair to take a beter look at the six pages neatly stacked atop one another, Twilight had her eyes gaze around the room again. As her eyes passed across the room, Twilight yet again took inventory on what the room looked like. They moved from the myraid of colorful streamers and papercrafts hanging from the ceiling with the banner reading "Happy Birthday Macintosh!", to the nearly empty tables below. The tables did have more than dinnerware on them when the party was young, but it all had been sent to litter the floor shortly after the presents were opened.

All the tablecloths had been draped over the tables and chairs stacked up near the front to make a "Cutiemark Party Fort". Twilight had to roll her eyes however when she saw Pinkie go behind it while shouting "You can't hide in there from me forever!".Twilight also managed to hear the three fillies inside screaming with exitement and throwing water baloons at the already drenced intruder before tuning it all out to read.


"Cupcakes" was the title wrote by hoof on the first page. Interesting enough, Twilight thought, I guess I might learn something new about cooking. As she read the fourth setence however, Twilight knew tht wasn't the case, but it was enough to capture her full attention. The short story seemed to be quite amusing, until Twilight began to read the second page. Thst is where Twilight's jaw became slack, and her reading speed begane to increase dramatically. It in fact was so fast, that the fifth page took no more than a few moments to read. Upon beginning the last one, Twilight had began to rise out of the chair but witout realizing her friend had poped up beside her.


"Watcha reading Twilight?" Pinkie asked as Twilight bumped into her. "Oh, uh, noting! i just remembered though that this thing I wrote needs to be sent to Celestia soon!" Twilight replied while quickly slipping out the other side of the chair, and then out the door while wearing a cheesy smile the whole time.


"Well see you later then!" Pinkie said with a sigh because Twilight had already made it out the door. Pinkie then turned around just in time to recieve another water baloon straight to the face. With a "GWAAAR" she leaped into the fort, managing to collapse it and leave noting but a giggling and laughing pile of tablecloths upon the floor.

If you're writing as a form of creative self-expression/for the fun of writing, don't worry about that. Like, at all.

If you're trying to produce a product for public consumption (say, something you plan to submit to EqD), you should ask yourself what you're contributing with this story. Is it so funny that people will enjoy reading it for its own sake? Does it fill in an unexplored corner of Equestria, or of the mane character's lives? Does it have plot (clopfics only) ? If the answer to all of those is 'no,' you should re-evaluate what you're doing.

Oh, and if you're planning to put this out for public consumption, FOR GOD'S SAKE FIND SOMEONE IRL OR ONLINE TO EDIT IT FOR YOU. I am SICK of reading stories by people who don't know the difference between lose and loose, between there, their, and they're, and between past and present tense.

Hell, maybe bringing him up's a bad idea, but the biggest condemnation RedLetterMedia made about the Star Wars Prequels was when he asked the question 'Was this a story that should have been told?'. Not only was it bad, it failed as a concept. And I don't want that.
