Rarity Gets Called Out (9/9)

"You've got diarrhea of the mouth," said Martha. "You can't stop talking. I should know, I married him," she said, gesturing at the door. Then she sighed. "You apologized to me this afternoon for disliking me all these years. That's what started this whole thing. I didn't expect that, so I spoke the grudge I've had against you. I assumed, and you know what they say about assuming."
Rarity was aware of the crude colloquialism, and nodded.
Martha continued. "I didn't know you disliked me, so I got defensive and said the first thing that came to mind. But when I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about what you said. I was hurt that it even happened, but I didn't realize you wouldn't apologize if you still felt that way. Can we just forget all of this?"
"Consider it forgotten, darling," said Rarity, smiling.
"We should talk more often," said Martha, heading out.
Rarity waved. "We should do the spa."
The door closed, and Rarity collapsed on the floor, shuddering. The panic finally caught up with her, and she cried for a few minutes.
Then she dried her eyes, fixed herself up for bed, and had a nice big bowl of chocolate ice cream while listening to classical music on the radio.
If she was going to get pimples, she might as well feel good about them.
