"And then suddenly, KABLOOIE!" Pinkie Pie giggled uncontrollably at the splashed punch dribbling down Twilight Sparkle's face. "Oops! Sorry Twilight! I got carried away." she squeaked in her bubbly tone, as the young unicorn wiped away the punch on the tablecloth. "Oh, I don't mind," she smiled in return, too enamored with the party to let a little punch spoil things. The party was going swimmingly, even by Pinkie's impressive standards. And even now, as the celebrations began to wind down and the stars gleamed outside in the warm summer night, the six Equestrian girls lingered, each too pleased to leave.
"So," Fluttershy said quietly, glancing up at Pinkie from behind her flowing locks, "um, what happened next...?" "Oh right!" Pinkie squeaked, rubbing her hooves together, "Then Mr.Cake said 'someone ought to clean up this mess'!" she narrated in a comical baritone, jutting her jaw out to mimic the baker. "And I even got to eat all the cake batter I cleaned up!" "Oh, Pinkie." Fluttershy smiled, amused, tapping Pinkie Pie's arm encouragingly. "You always tell the best stories."
"Ha!" came a loud, twangy laugh as Applejack sauntered up to the punch bowl, with Rarity tagging along beside her. "Y'all want a good story? Y'should hear what Rarity did this weekend!" Rarity's face turned a crimson red and she brought one hoof to her forehead, as though indignant. "APPLEjack!" she scolded, almost aghast, "Have a little class, please! That's not a story to be told in mixed company!" |
