/sp/'s not bad, depending on what time of day you visit and what you like. If you're a soccer guy, then Euro time should be pretty much heaven for you, as they make like 47 threads about everything.

Okay guys, listen up.

I don't like ponies, and I disliked them for the same reasons you guys do. I kept this up for a long time until one of my good buddies admitted he liked the show, and I rode on his ass for it, only to eventually find out I wasn't even arguing with him, I was just being a dick because he liked something I didn't. I reflected on that, and in reality, I judged him (and a lot of pony fans) much too harshly. (Besides, if I can watch something like Gumball, I don't really have the grounds to hate on MLP )

In retrospect, it's not the physical show I hate, it's some of the crazy-ass fans who thinks it's a good idea to ruin the enjoyment of their fandom, and everyone else's enjoyment of the board, too. The cartoon is just that; a cartoon. There is not fucking need to get so angry over a cartoon. The show even fucking teaches tolerance and getting along with others; something we all should probably practice.

So next time you see your average brony posting pony macros outside of /co/ and being generally annoying, just ignore them; the more shit you throw at them, the more ponies they'll end up throwing back.

I love it. Honestly. It's a garish globule of sensory-overload, and that's what makes it awesome. I rewatch episodes so I can look for background items I missed. I think everyone's suffering from some sort of hyperbole disorder, because the show isn't bad in any sense of the word. This one scene is why I think people love the show in a nutshell.

"I USED TO BE SOMEP0NY!" is just so ridiculous it's hard for me to not suppress a chuckle at every time, and they say things like "SOMEP0NY" and "EVERYP0NY" constantly.

"She kinda is!" is an example of some of the surprisingly funny comments that some of the ponies will throw in, as is Twilight's "Shh!" The dialog is just great.

And then the whole bit about her becoming a crazy cat lady, "But she only has one cat!" and "Give her time..." are also more examples of the funny dialog, great voice acting and great timing of the jokes.

Now, I probably shouldn't say that the dialog alone is wonderful and perfect at face value, but the dialog combined with the animation and the perfectly pretty and pink cheerful setting really makes the jokes and the dialog work, and makes for a highly entertaining show. The show is the sum of it's parts, and when you put everything together it's all great.

The plotlines and jokes ARE basic, but they're WELL-DONE. It's not complicated, it's cheerful and simple but it's dripping with quality at the same time. It's not going to be everyone's favorite and some are simply not going to be able to watch such a girly show, but I for one love it enough to get a full-size poster version of the Celestia "OBEY" obama poster.

How much is there even to discuss about those things? Transformers I can understand because its a whole franchise, Homestuck kind of because it's always updating, but for the rest how can there be enough worth discussing 24/7? This question has been asked so many times, and there's really not much of an answer I can give you, but I can try.

Basically, the enjoyment comes out of the show being lighthearted and girly without being bad. It's a new experience, and a nice change of pace from the usual stuff. It depends on how much you watched, but the show starts off decent and improves over time, and while it is entirely possible for you to not enjoy it purely as a matter of personal taste, there are enough positive elements that it can be called good from an objective standpoint.
