Why is Twilight pregnant?

Next season will be awesome but obsessive fans will hate it because it is not going to live up to their ultra high expectations they worked up during the summer fantasizing about ponies.

Some, but for the most part the people who hated season 1 are people who have been pony fans since the 80's and have hated them since they stopped being children. I think the vast majority of the current mlp fanbase only exists because of Friendship is Magic, so oldschool fans are a minority.
