Official tier list of MLP related boards/sites
Celestia Tier: IRC. Too few mods to cause shit about bad moderation, just enough to have GOOD moderation. Bans are very rare. Intelligent discussion is the norm. Users will tell you if you're flying off the handlebars. People are tolerant of dissenting opinions, but will shut down anything truely fucking stupid without a second thought. #mylittlepony plays host to some of the more important members of the community, and MLP:FiM staff occasionally drop in to chat. All content is generally allowed. Trolling is non-existant.
High tier: /co/. While a very mixed bag, *most* of the time it's not too bad. No moderation to speak of beyond global rules. Much trolling, generally ignored. All content allowed.
Image-dump tier: FiMchan. Not the best place for discussion, great for keeping track of writers and artists. Hosts Ponibooru. Less autistic than Ponychan, to a degree. Invasive moderation.
Indecisive tier: r/mylittlepony (Reddit) A slow part of the community, channers only make up about 50% of their userbase. Acts as a minor imagedump. Userbase follows a different dynamic than a channer would be used to. Adult content is very rare, but not explicitly banned. Simply put, nobody bothers to post it. More sensitive than other fansites. Faggotry level; very low. No OC ponies, links to fanfiction are few and far between, but not unheard of.
Shit tier: /b/ Intelligent discussion is absent entirely. Trolling is rife. Post quality is generally shit.
Ponychan. Terrible userbase. Average age is under 17. Not that that's any different than other *chans, but is far more prevalent there than even /b/. Roleplay, introduction threads, hug threads, and OC characters make the place feel more like Furaffinity than an imageboard. Most users have adopted names. Oppressive moderation. Love and tolerance is forced by law, no matter what. No negativity allowed. Thread quality is cringe-worthy. |
