Yeah, I remember that thread, game is still ongoing, though many of the faces have changed. Originally when I joined we had Ace Miller (secretly Liquid Snake), Yomi (ghost samurai/murderer), Rion (FMA abomination based on Greed), Loca (Lizardman born of a man and some dragon from Monster Hunter) and a not evil Hollow guy or something.
As I understand it, the game has been going on for quite a while before I joined and uses previous campaigns as the setting before it, settings which ended badly. Apparently they had a whole empire to fight the end boss with at one point, things went badly though.
We're currently chasing down remnants of that empire and the technology they developed as we are severely under equipped and need more options to undoing the Crimson King's extremely organised work.
Recently they managed to track down our base (again) and many of the identical cat girls I had befriended from some dungeon crawler world were presumed dead when we returned and our beloved assistants held at knife point, Ace now having a nemesis in the form of Vamp it seems, I think the GM loves fucking with the group with creepy NPCs.
Only two of the original six from when I joined exist, some players have lost two characters within that time. It's been a crazy ride but I've reached a point where the other players seem to think Wintermane not just as acceptable, but as a pretty key role in keeping everyone in line by forcing a 'what will the pony think?' mentality on their actions.
It's weird seeing normally aggressive players stop for a moment and think their actions through and actually try diplomacy first when seeing a opponent, but I've got a excellent track record now. Also, I'm slowly working my way up the experience I've earned to becoming the goddess of Winter. I'll be surprised if I don't die first though. |
