Personally I don't really take the large crowds of female ponies as being a real representation of the gender ratio. It's just lazy animation and the show is for girls. In my head all the dude ponies are all hanging out at gentleman's clubs and shit, too busy to be out on the streets.

To help out, I would say that AJ's forelegs could be moved a tiny bit forward on her body, and the "knee" joint on her hind legs looks a tiny bit lower than usual.

As for Apple Bloom, I think her right eye could be moved a tiny bit closer to her left, and maybe the left shouldn't be drawn at all from this angle. It just makes the head look completely round which it shouldn't be.

Otherwise this is absolutely adorable, especially AJ. I think you drew her very well. I'd love to see you finish it.

Because it's adorable and could actually happen. They don't mind implying interspecies attraction, but Rarity is too old for Spike. He's just a little kid, remember. Actual romance will probably never happen on the show for a main character but puppy love is old hat for kid's cartoons and is adorable as fuck.

Also I love Apple Bloom and Spike both as characters. And I think their dynamic would be awesome. See pics at beginning of thread.

Thanks so much for the critique! The little ponies' heads always did looks completely round to me but looking closer I can see that they aren't really. I had a lot more difficulty drawing her for some reason.

I like AJ's expression actually. We don't see her looking genuinely happy often enough. I think it's perfect.

Something still seems off about Apple Bloom's face. I think it's that the eye is too far back on her head. Try moving toward the snout. compare it next to an actual shot of her. Honestly though it doesn't look too bad at all, I would save this in its finished form.
