Rarity eventually gets really loud and starts shouting all her opinions and half-formed thoughts. Always ends the evening trying to make out with someone, even if it's just someone in arm's reach.

An episode that took a character, any character, and really layered their character.

I'm not saying shoving in R-rated pasts like THEY WERE RAPED! or EVERYONE THEY LOVED IS DEAD! but just a few good themes and ideas that wouldn't otherwise be present in a 15-minute kid's show. Like the sort of things recent 3-D movies manage to pack into a movie while still making it palatable and acceptable for children.

Right now, it's sorta like every layered aspect of the characters is a joke (like Pinkie being raised Amish, or Rarity pressured to make things for a play as a child, or Applejack leaving for hollywood) and I'd love to see it handled differently.
