05/16/11(Mon)12:15 No.25978945>>25978830 Because she doesn't make friends easily, and the friends she has had to pretty much force themselves on her, and had she not needed their help she would never have accepted them. She doesn't always come up with a magical solution, and when she does it doesn't always work, and can make the situation worse. She doesn't have to deal with the consequences in the same way that *none* of them do, it's a 20 minute show and doesn't have time for that.
Her inability to decide on a course of action was the plot in episode 3, episode 4 had her inability to convince applejack has a plot point, episode 5 had her misjudging pinkie pie, episode 6 had her misjudging how people would react, episode 7 had her missing the plainly obvious in fluttershy, episode 8 was all about how adorably socially retarded she is, episode 10 she actually destroyed ponyville, episode 14 showed she can be a bitch, episode 15 showed a staggering lack of understanding of scientific method and inability to accept overwhelming evidence, episode 17 showed a staggering lack of forethought in going into a dangerous forest alone, and being unable to stop the creatures there, episode 20 showed her inability to keep secrets as well as inability to read people, episode 22 had her way overblowing an easily resolved situation, episode 23 showed that even her magic is far from infallible.
A mary sue cannot have character flaws. She has plenty. Thus, she's not a mary sue. |
