4chan makes a shit ton of art and fics of her, eventually MLP's animators noticed it and they kindly ended up including her in the cartoon as a nice not to /co/
Then Lauren Faust herself draws the pegasi and later announces she will become a regular character during season 2, ergo 4chan directly influenced a cartoon.

Meanwhile, Pony communities that have been around for lots and lots of years trying to get noticed, get absolutely NOTHING, their members gets all butthurt and claim that the FiM staff has "betrayed their loyality".

4chan wasn't even TRYING to influence the cartoon, but it did~ at the point that Mrs. Lauren Faust first talked about /co/ and much later talked about true pony communities like MLP Arena and such.

Personally, I have all of them. They make too much of an effort into being cute, but in a way that doesn't gel with the designs. Even if they didn't mess up colors and eyes, there would be a billion and one more problems to deal with. G4 characters have really bulky hair (good fucking luck styling it to the show's design), especially Fluttershy, and the plastic keychain version of her is a recolor Dash.

Putting down a smear of color, then another smear of color on top of that? And so on and so on? Finishing with putting down lines if you want them, or appropriate shading/highlights if you don't want.

Looks blobby at first, but if you keep in mind what you're wanting it to look like, it's not too horribly difficult. And it gets the color down as you're drawing. I suppose it's probably more like painting, but I've never really painted, except for computer doodles. Similar in it's like laying down layers of 'paint' on top of each other. After a bit of practice, you can kinda figure out what's a good order to do stuff in, and if not, it's a computer. You can easily do it over again. All you've lost is time.

So I watched "To Kill a Mockinbird" earlier today.

Toward the end Scout is in a school pageant in a ham costume.

All I could think was, "lol Trixie".

Can't write, can't draw, did a shitty job at coloring (made even more apparent now that the actual artist has gone and colored it)... Feels pretty bad not being able to give anything back to the fandom.

With Wakfu, I was a link repository for a while, then I worked on the scripts, and now I do editing for the comics, but MLP is all on youtube, and translating is never needed and there aren't any comics that need editing, so what's left for me to do?

I used the Pen tool and fill bucket on GIMP... I don't suppose there's a way to get the tapered line ends in GIMP like you've gotten from photoshop?

Also, GIMP's fill bucket is... more than a little terrible. It leaves about a pixel between the line and the fill, so every time I used it I had to duplicate the layer, color the bottom with the brush tool to cover up, and then merge back down. Whether you know it or not, you're probably subconsciously thinking about how real horses look, with their huge bodies, relatively small heads, and skinny legs. You just have to forget all that. The only bit of real horse anatomy that matters is the rear leg shape.
