Putting down a smear of color, then another smear of color on top of that? And so on and so on? Finishing with putting down lines if you want them, or appropriate shading/highlights if you don't want.
Looks blobby at first, but if you keep in mind what you're wanting it to look like, it's not too horribly difficult. And it gets the color down as you're drawing. I suppose it's probably more like painting, but I've never really painted, except for computer doodles. Similar in it's like laying down layers of 'paint' on top of each other. After a bit of practice, you can kinda figure out what's a good order to do stuff in, and if not, it's a computer. You can easily do it over again. All you've lost is time. |
