 The Kingdom of Hipporion, for all its savagery and ritualistic hunts, are also a very secretive race. Many of the larger griffon cities and towns are hidden amongst the trees, or in the clouds, or in deep caves. Very few maps of the Griffon homelands exist, as most are incomplete or in the property of the the scribesman of the Grand Library of Cyrus, the capital city of Hipporion. This capital is actually one of the well known towns, not because of carelessness, but due to the sheer difficulty of getting in or out of the city.
It is located within a mountain range known as the Fogspikes, for their jutting elevations, and thick dark clouds that dominate the view. The highest is the Mountain Fauxsquall, which the city of Cyrus is located under. Upon viewing from the outside, the mountain is surrounded by a thick thunderstorm constantly. Of course, the griffons had long ago built tunnels that allowed Cyrus to be, releasing hot air and soot from vents near the top, which mixes with the snowy mountaintop to create thick cloud cover. The constant hammering and pounding of the 'storm' is the pounding hammers of the Hipporion Metalworkers, with flashes of light the reflective light of the Golden city of Cyrus.. |
