G4 Bonbon grew up poor. Not poor like Pinkamena grew up poor, where they lacked some fancier things and made due, but poor in that way where when she woke up each morning she didn't know if she would get to eat that day. Sometimes when they had food, she would give up her portion so that her two sisters could have an extra serving. It was hard, but nothing made her happier than to see the ones she loved be sated, even if just for a little while.
Eventually Bonbon became quite good out of making food out of almost literally nothing. The absolute cheapest of ingredients. Later she'd find out they were called 'empty calories', because there was barely any nutritional to be found in those dishes, but there was nothing empty about those smiles every time she cooked. It became her talent. Her cutie mark: three candies, one for each sister, each perfectly and beautifully round.
They got out. A happy ending. Bonbon lives a much more secure life in Ponyville now. But she never forgot how hard it was. Even if some ponies think she's weird. She's always trying to fill other ponies up with cupcakes and candy. But that's just how she shows her love. So full of love. |
