05/11/11(Wed)09:43 No.25833040I always imagine Ponies working kind of like Orkz from WH40k. For those that don't know, Orkz are essentially what they sound like, traditional fantasy orcs in space. They give no fucks and run around basically bludgeoning everything and somehow coming out on top due to sheer numbers and physical strength.
Their real power, though, is their latent psychic ability. Without getting too detailed, Orkz have a subconscious psychic field that actually affects them and their surroundings, and is cumulative with more Orkz in an area. If an Ork believes something hard enough, it becomes true. Ork guns are essentially metal boxes with no working parts and some nuts and bolts thrown inside. But as long as the Ork pulling the trigger actually BELIEVES that the gun will fire, it will continue to shoot actual bullets. A common Ork phrase is, "Red ones go fasta!" referring to the Ork belief that vehicles painted red will actually move more quickly. And, when driven by an Ork, they almost always do.
So basically, Ponies, for the most part, are quadrupedal, and cannot pick up objects using their hooves. However, in cases of extreme emotional expression, a pony may often "forget" itself, and begin to manipulate its body or other objects in a way that seems impossible, simply because it WANTS to. The biological function might be as simple as an excreted glue-like substance, or perhaps microscopic tendrils that extend from the dermis to grasp the object in question. But the most important part is that nopony ever seems to remember or question these occurrences, and will never, under any circumstances, use them for any practical purpose. They are simply treated matter-of-factly, and then forgotten.
tl;dr: Everything just works because they want it to. |
