Another poster sounding in on the owl episode sucking. I felt like even Twilight's voice actor was phoning it in, probably because her dialogue was pretty much forced. Like, "Get down before you fall," and then Spike falls.

It was awful at every turn. The beginning was such a blatant setup, GOSH, THEY'RE ALL FAWNING OVER SPIKE WAY MORE THAN USUAL OR EVER, WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG? Yeah, the "who" routine was so cliche it hurt. I didn't mind the mouse thing just because he put on a cape and mustache for it, but I definitely agree with the dragon thing. We might have learned a little about grown dragons and what they how interact with the world, but no the owl has to save the day by flying in front of Twilight while they run.

Not that you actually could be guided by an owl in the dark. Owls don't have to worry about rocks, roots, and dips in the ground that would cause you to seriously injur yourself. Even if it did dodge all the trees, you could still get hurt or tripped up. It seemed like kind of a meaningless way of making the owl seem justified.
