The number one way to stay focused on a drawing is drawing with a friend - either they're drawing something themselves nearby or looking over your shoulder and keeping you company. So long as you both want to get the drawing done, you'll work.
Failing that, having someone to talk to helps so you can make some sort of public deadline. If you say "I'm going to finish that drawing tonight!" to a friend then fail to do so tomorrow, you'll lose face in their eyes a bit and that'll encourage you to get the job done in a way that letting yourself down wouldn't.
It might be hard finding a friend in real life who'll support you drawing ponies, though. Consider doing something in a public manner online (creating a thread on a more static board, say, and posting some art so people will be able to identify you in the future) so that your... 'online reputation', for lack of a better word, will motivate you. |
