>>25661100 That's a good question, friend. In all honesty, it's most likely not, hence the shut-down, but it technically wasn't a court ordered cease and desist, it was more Hasbro saying Don't fuck with us because we're big and legally you aren't.
If they really wanted to sue for damages, there wouldn't be much to sue for. Hell, the court costs in such an event would cost multiple time anything the would recur from me. Plus, this is a company that has been in business on every colonized section of the planet longer than most of us have been alive, they're aren't going to cry because someone made a fan project.
There's also the argument that one can't rip off something that doesn't exist, i.e. Hasbro doesn't, and probably never will, make adult size MLP shoes for men, therefore they aren't losing money on something they don't make. They were really just guarding their copyright. If they wanted to sue for something like my shoes or even my shirts, they would logically have to take out a case against every fan-made tshirt, hat, keychain, poster, memorabilia , and even fan characters and fanfics made for the last thirty years, since they all technically fall in the same category.
In the end, I'm just doing this to raise money for charity, and because fellow bronies enjoy it. I don't see what's so morally bankrupt about that. |
